Canyoneering in Red Hollow Slot Canyon, Orderville Utah. 4/19/14
This was at the beginning of the slot canyon. The walls average between 40 and 80 feet above. It is not a very technical canyon and can be ascended in less than an hour by someone with some basic gear
This was actually supposed to be the point I started recording video, but the camera was in still mode. Regardless, this is one of the typical obstacles you encounter in Red Hollow, or any slot canyon, for that matter. The top of the large chockstone boulder was about fifteen feet of the canyon floor. Ascending was tricky as the walls are polished sandstone offering very little grip. But some wide chimneying can see you over.
This was near the end of the slot canyon, approximately a quarter mile in. This picture was taken at roughly 150 feet above the first photo near the entrance.
